Energy Procedia has published our SHC 2014 conference proceedings.

The Solar Heating and Cooling Programme was established in 1977, as one of the first programmes of the International Energy Agency. The Programme’s work is unique in that it is accomplished through the international collaborative effort of experts from Member countries and the European Union.

In 2012 the IEA SHC started a new series of annual conferences on Solar Heating and Cooling for Buildings and Industry. The first two SHC conferences were held in San Francisco, USA and in Freiburg, Germany, The third edition took place in Beijing, China. SHC 2014 covered papers on technology developments, material research, system design, standardization, reliability, modeling, control, monitoring, demonstration & pilot installations, and best practice examples for the following topics:

Systems and components

  • Solar thermal collectors
  • Thermal storage
  • Other innovative components and systems
  • Standards and certification

Applications

  • Water heating
  • Solar heating and air-conditioning
  • District heating
  • Solar heat for industrial processes
  • Solar refrigeration
  • Solar architecture
  • Building integration
  • Building renovation
  • Solar resource assessment

Some 200 participants from 30 countries around the world received 15 keynote lectures and 71 oral presentations in three parallel tracks. 38 scientific posters were continuously displayed throughout the conference. The proceedings contain 92 manuscripts, which were reviewed by the scientific committee of SHC 2014. We would like to thank all authors for their contributions. Als
